Direct Selling News revealed the winners of its Global Celebration 2021 across various categories. The 2021 Global Celebration was held virtually on Monday, April 19, 2021, hosted by DSN founder and CEO, Stuart Johnson, John Fleming, and DSN Editor, Patricia White. Considered to be the biggest industry recognition event of the year, the Direct Selling News Global Celebration announced the prestigious Global 100 List, Bravo Awards, Direct Selling Legends, and Best Places to Work. The event was open to an online audience consisting of executives, employees, and distributors around the world.
Painting a unique picture of the industry, its economic and social details, into the global frame, DSN’s Global 100 offers a unique perspective on the potential of the direct selling industry. In the 2021 Global 100 list, 64 direct selling companies representing more than 64 billion dollars in revenue and $3B in growth were recognized. Surveying domestic-based private-held 100 direct selling companies, their trends and developments, DSN noted that 80% of the companies enjoyed robust sales in March 2020 and the first quarter of 2021 saw elevated sales for these companies as much as 100%. Bravo Awards
The ‘Bravo’ category in Direct Selling News Global 100 recognizes individuals and organizations for their undying commitment to the industry and achievements in the professional realm. Bravo awards have a few debut categories this year.
Bravo Leadership Award
Awarded in recognition of the individual’s achievement and excellent leadership qualities exhibited at the organization level and the field level, this year’s Bravo Leadership Award was presented to Kevin Guest, CEO of USANA Health Sciences. His product development, strategic marketing, and customer service excellence have significantly impacted the company’s success history.
Bravo Growth Award
Presented to a domestic-based direct selling company with the highest year-on-year revenue growth and percentage growth, Color Street was the first recipient this year for exhibiting an outstanding 171 percent year-over-year growth.
The second recipient of the 2021 Bravo U.S. Growth Award was eXp Realty for their remarkable growth of more than $800M in 2020.
Bravo International Growth Award
Accorded to the international direct selling company with the highest revenue growth, Herbalife bagged the award this year with an astounding $600M in revenue, an increase from $4.9B in 2019 to $5.5B in 2020.
The second awardee for the International Growth Award 2021 was PM-International. Their revenue increased by $600M from $1.11B in sales in 2019 to $1.71B in 2020.
Bravo Global Good Award
Awarded in recognition of the companies’ social, economic, and philanthropic efforts, the first-ever Bravo Global Good Award was presented to Nu Skin. The organization was honored for its humanitarian efforts in support of children across the globe as well as for its ongoing sustainability initiatives in reducing their overall carbon footprint.
The Legends
Direct Selling News during their Global celebration this year, recognized six industry legends, with 50 years of direct selling experience and expertise. They aired video series with incredible insights and hopes of these legends into the future of the direct selling industry. The videos featuring the 6 industry legends were produced by Direct Selling News, hosted by the honoree, John Fleming.
The featured legends, Jerry Brassfield, John Fleming, Stan Fredrick, Rick Goings, Rudy Revak, and Larry Thompson, shared their direct selling routines, success, pitfalls, and the story of their way to the top. The video series runs exclusively on their direct selling career with a lot to learn about for the younger entrepreneurs. Their resourceful stories are presented as evidence of the success and opportunities direct selling has as an industry.
Best Places to Work
Direct Selling News together with Quantum Workplace assessed the best places to work in the direct selling world to analyze the corporate culture, teamwork, and demeanor adopted by direct selling companies to foster distributor engagement and retention. Organizations were valued for the personalized services they offer to their distributors and customers and the support they offer to the community outside the organization. A surprising fact of the matter is that 11 out of the 13 honorees have received this award multiple times which is clear proof of their unwavering commitment to their workforce.
Direct Selling News designed the contest with specific goals in mind. The first and foremost aim is to showcase the direct selling channel as “a positive job-creating engine”, to recognize and honor companies that have led their way to create this positive impact gifting their workforce with an outstanding work environment. While identifying the Best Places to Work, DSN also stresses the importance of identifying and sharing best practices with the larger direct selling community. The contest also intends to help participating organizations with feedback and data thus collected to measure employee satisfaction and engagement.
