DSA Canada industry awards 2020
Direct Sellers Association in Canada announced the recipients of their industry awards 2020 during its Virtual Summit, Pivot 2020. DSA Canada awarded its member companies and individuals who made positive contributions to the direct selling industry and society in general.
Canada Direct Sellers Association has been guarding the industry adhering to ethical policies for establishing good business practices in the direct selling industry since its commencement in 1954. It encourages the efforts of its community by honoring them with prestigious awards every year. In view of the pandemic, DSA Canada hosted a Virtual Award Ceremony, Pivot 2020 on the 19th of November 2020.

Ivan P. Phelan Award
The award is considered as the industry’s highest personal recognition and presented to an individual who has made remarkable contributions to the direct selling industry of Canada.
Awardee - Susan Timmermeister, Director, Strategy and Business Services, Mary Kay
Mark of Distinction Award
This award recognizes an Independent Sales Consultant (ISC) who has made a positive impact on the community by helping other individuals.
Awardee - Garry Coles and the late Kimberly Coles, Independent Business Owners, Amway Canada
Community Spirit Award
This award recognizes Independent Sales Consultant (ISC) for their individual effort and charitable contributions that have made a difference in the life of others.
Awardee - Jennifer Dekezel, Canadian Associate Market Mentor at MONAT Global Canada
Industry Innovation Award
This honor is awarded for the implementation of a program unique to the Canadian direct selling industry.
Awardee - Mary Kay, Skin Analyzer App
Making a Difference Award
This is awarded in recognition of the humanitarian efforts to the community thereby effecting a profound change in the lives of Canadians.
Awardee - Mannatech, Nourishing Hope Campaign
Partnership in Progress Award
The award recognizes the efforts of supplier member companies that deliver quality products or services to an active member company that has made a positive contribution to the business of the active member company.
Awardee - Millar Kreklewetz

We are inspired as an industry by their many accomplishments. This year has been especially challenging, so we are very excited to celebrate their achievements, even if we had to commemorate them virtually this year” he added.

Canadian direct selling industry connects 1.2 million Canadians to entrepreneurial opportunities and professional enrichment. DSA Canada plays a prominent role in promoting and securing its member companies from legal complications by following a strict ethical code of conduct. Direct selling in Canada is a booming industry with numerous opportunities given to its individual citizens to develop and empower their professional skills.

DSA Canada is devoted to its role as a mentor more than being just a consortium of direct selling companies and takes initiative to educate the general public about the benefits of direct selling through campaigns and seminars. Its ‘Shop Direct, Shop Local’ campaign organized to support small entrepreneurs received much online attention. DSA Canada’s Scholarship Program awards $16000 worth of scholarships to post-secondary students in the direct selling family every year. Despite the shortcomings of a challenging 2020, DSA Canada has immensely contributed to the industry through the implementation of various programs.
